Was today Monday?

Bob was missing at walk time early this morning. So we started searching his usual hideouts. However when, the kitchen, the hall and his favourite blanket beside the doors to the garden revealed nothing, we widened the search.

At last I found him, but his  look had me wondering was today Monday or Tuesday.

What do you make or think of his expressionpro-campro-cam

All-focus

Are you for real? I am not posing out here it is mucky and cold.

So I tried Judy. She wasn’t much better as all she wanted to do was find fish.

Surprises at Christmas

Unfortunately snow is not looking likely, yet again, here in Ireland but as it is usually a one or two day mushy affair, we are perhaps better off without it. However, these photos will explain the title of the blog post.

No surprise in the first one.  Bob asleep…again.img_0316

Even Ellie could not waken him.img_0321

She considered joining him but only for a minute.

But she did find one or two interesting things beneath the tree, did you spot them?

img_0318

It left her feeling a little puzzled or is it just that intent border collie look, begging for someone anyone to play with her? You can decide while we grab a racket and a ball.

Happy Christmas everyone and a great, 2017 to all.

Nanowrimo – Progress of sorts

Nanowrimo is on us , well we are half-way to the finish line and I am finding that squeezing in the hours to write is difficult for some reason this year.  I think I have taken too much on and with too many ideas and with not much time on my hands I find though the words are flowing (31,000 is my tally to-date) I fear it will take much editing. I keep wondering how is everyone else managing to find the time?

Bob, as you can see is not impressed because he would much prefer if I was cooking Christmas cakes or puddings. And to make matters worse I put a picture of both of them on the header for the blog site.may-2013-022

I still do not know if this is his version of the evil eye or is he falling asleep?

Your opinions do count with me, him – I really don’t know.

A word to the wise from Bob

Good morning everyone. Life is getting better, as the weather gets chillier I feel frisky and extra happy.

However, it is hard to keep track of my female companion and last night I found the perfect way to keep her in one place, see what you think. (And no I wasn’t cruel

A strange visitor

It was Friday and Maria kept hopping in and out of the house. She was leaving the oddest collection of stuff around but none of it edible so I wasn’t too interested in perfume and vouchers. Seemingly it was prizes for a raffle -whatever that is.

But one caught our eye.

I stayed out-of-the-way.

Ellie was brave though I don’t think she liked it.

She didn’t give up. Ellie spent a long time trying to persuade the doll to move.  I knew better dinner called for my attention.

Bob’s Diary: To cheer Maria up…

talking 1Yesterday was Mother’s day and though her two kids did an amazing job, cooking dinner and surprising her with some spectacular bird earrings. I know Maria still missed her own mum… so….

We decided to cheer her up by beginning our expedition plans to find that Ogre.

I’ve been watching Dora, and learnt a lot,

Looking for Dora the Explorer.

Looking for Dora the Explorer.

So I now know preparation is the key for finding a species, in this case an Ogre. We started by gathering together the following items:

stuff in barrow

1.  Food

 2. Fairy Cakes

3. In case of emergency phone

4. Binoculars

5. Food

6.  First aid kit and book.

7.  A silver star

8. –  We are still waiting on this one,  it is a map of the wood where he lives …until then we will  practice our drills…

talking 2

Ellie:  Hang on a moment, Bob. Why have we got a star?

Bob: all travellers know that if you are lost you can find your way by looking at stars, so we are bringing our own, just in case

ball on stick 1

Ellie: And a ball on a stick?

Bob: Its the old donkey thing, you know donkey being led by a carrot on a stick,

Ellie: No I don’t understand.

Bob: You are a collie/husky, you like balls, see I’ll show you..

donkey

Ellie: Nope sorry I don’t get it..

Bob: Don’t worry you’ll get the hang of it. We just have to pick the correct mode of transport to be pulled.

2nd veh

Ellie: now that looks plain stupid.

Bob: which one?

3rd veh

vehicle 1

Ellie:  Hmm.. I don’t think you’ll get any donkey to pull any of those.

ellies final word

But I wouldn’t mind a drive in a Ferrari.
