Because he is now a Senior Dog (in a lot of ways) Bob believes walks should be taken at a very sedentary pace. All I can say is we do try to gee him up.
But it never works.
His new ploy is: ears stand to attention and he turns to his right as if to say, “What is that?”
Ellie will automatically stop and do the same. Or he will wag his tail at a neighbour as though inviting conversation. This one really works. Therefore our twenty minute short walk now takes, 27-35 minutes.
I tried taking him through the fields, and that is worse.
He takes it as an invitation to sit and admire everything about him. While she races around like a greyhound until she gets tired.
I wonder if I could build a Bob buggy….similar to a golf buggy?
But then he would want to drive it.
